I'd like to see gate as a spell you have to concentrate on, instead of something that will last for the arbitrary 'tick'. This would defeat the problem of gates closing when you want them open, or staying open when you want them closed. It would also free you up to take a mana drain to hold one open for a few more ticks, but I would not like to see it be mp practical to hold a gate open for very long.

Also, I would like to see gates and rifts as size huge, instead of size giant.

Opinions and QQs, please.

Peace.

Let's make gates and rifts size caster. ;)

I do agree on one point about gates but with a different fix. And the code already exists for the fix, I think. We now have a dirt timer that is separated from the ticks but of the same length. I'd like to see that timer attached to gates so gates don't appear and vanish at the same time. But no, no need making gate a concentration hold spell. It's meant to be short duration and has a moderate cost. That part of it is fine as is.

Agreed entirely with p40.

Well. Not about caster size. That [REDACTED] is dumb.

D already talked about the problem with gates and rifts. They actually become part of the room and cannot be affected by the fast effect system w/o totally f'ing up the entire room code.

If that is the case, leave well enough alone, I'd say.

Edit: and size caster was meant to be dumb.

Would love to see it as a concentration spell.
