Post subject: | [IDEA] Combat Healing |
As it is right now I find it extremely hard to heal in a large combat setting. I type to keep up with peoples hps with "info" but it just gets lost in the battle spam. I do not know if this is possible but what I'm trying to propose is change the way healers see combat. Instead of seeing Quote: [100%](MANA)[ 64%](HEALTH)[ 91%](COIN)zero A hunchbacked imp's bash misses and he falls flat on his face. A hunchbacked imp's claw at an inn bouncer's chest is deflected by steel plate mail. A hunchbacked imp's claw at an inn bouncer's left leg is deflected by steel plate mail. A hunchbacked imp claws at an inn bouncer's chest, barely scratching him. An inn bouncer punches at a hunchbacked imp's right leg, ripping flesh as if it were butter! An inn bouncer punches at a hunchbacked imp's stomach, bashing a deep gash. [100%](MANA)[ 64%](HEALTH)[ 91%](COIN)zero You would instead see Quote: [100%](MANA)[ 64%](HEALTH)[ 91%](COIN)zero
A hunchbacked imp has small wounds and bruises. [100%](MANA)[ 64%](HEALTH)[ 91%](COIN)zero A hunchbacked imp has quiet a few wounds. *A hunchbancked imp is coughing up blood!* [100%](MANA)[ 64%](HEALTH)[ 91%](COIN)zero Basically seeing what damage your group mates are taking rather than what everyone is doing to each other. Since the healer is in the back row and not really concerned with the combat that is going on he would be able to focus on healing his parter and also a lot of spam would be taken out so the info command would actually be readable in large spam situations. I am very curious to hear from other healers on this idea. Do you have troubles healing in high intensity situations due to screen spam? |

What really helped me a lot dealing with that was I macroed ctrl-(keypad) numbers to heal based on position. So that I would only need to know who they are targeting, info, check hp, then heal as needed. |

Goldlantern suggested an idea sort of like this... His idea was that upon healing a target, you would immediately get a return carriage of their health, so you could immediately tell whether they needed to be healed again or not. Something like: You start to concentrate. You utter the words 'pzar' Your spell brings a hunchbacked imp farther from death's door.(Or whatever his wording was) You start to concentrate. You utter the words 'pzar' A hunchbacked imp still has some nasty wounds. You start to concentrate. You utter the words 'pzar' A hunchbacked imp is only slightly injured. etc... It's not quite your idea, but it would still help. I like your idea however, in the mean time you can try fooling around with combat spam options, see how much of the spam you can disable, maybe you can get it to wear it just shows your allies taking damage. |

Yeah I like that idea and I think the nospam command is almost perfect. If I could no spam hits from my fellow players and see hits from enemy players that would cut most combats in half and allow me to see who is getting hit more clearly and heal much more efficiently. |

I rarely even use nospam, but I don't generally have a problem healing in heavy spam fights. I mean, there's a limit. If you've got nine-on-nine happening, and both groups' front and second rows are hitting, it gets insane with or without no-spam and you might as well just heal at random. |

I don't think this needs anything, I've never had a problem using; info, c heal xxx, info; and I haven't used the nospam options in years. IMO big fights are supposed to be chaotic/confusing/busy meaning it should be hard to tell exactly what's going on anyways. I've also never healed by position, isn't it easier to just use names??? |

If I only need to press ctrl - (numpad key) is a lot easier than typing out heal xxx. Also, if I see someone getting pounded, I can more easily heal them. |

But do you think a priest stuck in the third row should see everything thats going on in combat? Doesn't make much sense to me and I think the option to "gag" combat would be a fine addition. |

Have you even tried nospam options? |

Code: [100%](MANA)[100%](HEALTH)[100%](COIN)zero
nospam Syntax: nospam <type> <target> nospam [all|none] [type] SELF VICTIM OTHER miss ON ON ON deflect ON ON ON block ON ON ON move ON item ON [100%](MANA)[100%](HEALTH)[100%](COIN)zero Unless my eyes deceive me, yes. |
