I'd like to know a good reason why any race should be refused the class bard. Deep-elf and griffon seem like interesting bard options. Giant wouldn't be very fun, but neither would a giant warlock, yet its been done successfully. So, I say, make bard the class that every race can play. Even if they're not ideal for it, bards are one of the coolest things on SK, and there should be at least one class that every race can play. |

Agreed. I would love to play a griffon bard. |

I was actually just talking with someone the other day about my desire for a deep-elf bard. No joke. It would be a neat combo. And a griffon makes sense too. They're birds! You can make a song bird. |

There are already griffon instruments in game. I know from a bard friend of mine using polymorph scrolls to change to a griffon that they're capable of being at least mostly effective (the lower-than-it-should-be CHA would be a hindrance, but no less so than a giant warlock's INT). And they also have the vocal structure to sing already. |

I can't argue that they should be available to every race, but I will argue that they will get played by every race. Giants come to mind imediately. How many giant 'locks do you know of? |

Aside from griffons singing differently, it doesn't mean they can't be bards. I say let them in! Also, there is absolutely zero reasons why a delf should not be a bard either. |

Bards are the carriers of lore. If a race exists, it has lore, and their bards are the one responsible. Damnit, this is a no brainer. Yes, it will be weird to reconcile a giant singing a lullaby or dancing, but I think its awesome. Griffon bards are an incredible option that would be limited by their racial stats, same with giants and deep-elves. While deep-elves have the capability to be the strongest of those three for playability, I'd try any of those three right now in a heartbeat. I really don't know what's wrong with adding a little bit of variation to the mix. Open up all races to bards, open up centaur and dwarf hellion and paladins. Any combo that is not completely broken (ie heavy armor sprite, sorc or necro giant ) |

The image of a giant or griffon dancing is rather amusing. I say allow it, but giants is such a huge, huge stretch. If it were to occur, there should be level and intelligence based check. Meaning that X amount of intelligence can lore up to X level, or some such. It is hard to think that a giant could lore anything and know about it |
