Unique Characters.

In almost every topic I see someone complaining about being able to make classes more unique or customized for the individual player. The common example is Mercs and thiere Spec ability. I would like to see a few thoughts on how to diversify the classes.

WARLOCKS:
I have said this quite a few times but always get shot down. When I say we could make simple cosmetic changes to warlocks. the change being that Magma spray be a spell that is enterchangable with Cone of Cold. Where cone of cold could get a simlier stick effect as magma spray does, something called "frost bite". If you want we could also have a water warlock where his magma spray attack is a tsunami attack, and it has some gag/choke stick effect, and then you have earth which could easily be the formation of a rock above your victim with any number of stick effetcs. then you have a thundershock attack for lightning warlocks who then can have jolts as a stick effect Etc..

PRIEST;
Well, they are getting thiere religous spells.

SHAMAN:
The charm necklace would be a great start.

BARD:
Allowing then to make a unique song for each song they master.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

If we do manage to make classes more unique then we can do what chem suggested and rid ourselves of cabals and make more classes.

You always say that it would just be a cosmetic change for warlocks. Certain races are weak to certain elements so it wouldn't just be cosmetic, it would affect gameplay. I am all for more diversity within each class, though.

Considering the amount of centuars running around, not to mention the list of fire related spells the Warlock still would have, it would be a very MINOR gimp that most people would not even feel, but the RP aspect would be extraordaniary.

Allowing warklocks to be of other elements would be a gimp. Since, none of the races have fire resistance. While I believe there is resistances to everything but acid? Some people might take air for lightning, but I would still see the vast majority be a fire warlock. For reasons already said.

Strip utility spells based on elemental affinity.

Why should a warlock of fire be able to turn invisible?

Why should an earthen Warlock be able to fly?

Why should a water warlock be able to detect invisible and hidden things not in the water?

Why should an air warlock be able to cast airy water?

It would require a complete breakdown of the class, and some new spells, youcan be generic of specialize.

I thought only griffons were innate immune. And I thought they were immune to poison/plague/gas, not water, electric/air, earth/rock, cold. The only real gimp is losing that ONE spell agianst Centuars. As I stated before centuars are few and far inbetween.

According to the help file, griffons have natural resistances to cold and acid as well.

My bad with bad memory.

Well, I can see then people being an air warlock for the lightning, but no one would take the earth(acid) and the water(cold) elements.

C/recite polymorph 'dragon' any-adjective would completely shut down a fire warlock, so there would at least be some reason to pick a different kind.

I'm more in favor of seeing sorcs branched before warlocks, though. There's more room and reason for varied "schools" of sorc than there is for a largely cosmetic change to warlocks when, if you really want to play being a warlock dedicated to a particular type of element, you can just either not learn the other element related spells or just not cast them.

If the warlocks were to be specialized. There would have to be a lot more spells added.
