Post subject: | Shaman Charm |
Quote: Shaman Charm Necklace
syntax: create charm <set of three dolls> While the dolls are quite powerful, sometimes the Shaman likes to leach the spiritual energy from it. This is similar to the spirit dolls in that they give bonuses according to race. The strength of these bonuses though is much weaker unless the Shaman has reached the pinnacle of their craft. Note: To cast this spell you need three dolls of the same type in your inventory and the charm necklace cannot be used for voodoo. This is a master lvl skill. At first it only makes necklaces that gives slight bonuses that are the same type that the dolls give, but at grandmaster it will make them at the greater lvl. This charm would actually take up the symbol slot and can only be used by a shaman. If anyone else touches it, they get zapped. If the dolls are from one specific person (PC or NPC the name will appear on it, like a trophy! ![]() |

I was thinking of something because shamans have a tendency to not be in a religion and this would give them something for it. |

Shamans are already impressive, true, but this would be a nice touch. It would add flavor, and a bit of flair. I'm having trouble picturing how it would look without being over-cumbersome, though. <worn as symbol> a spirit charm of a fytyrsk, a bat, a deep-elf or <worn as symbol> spirit dolls of Beethiok, Pilcestor, Nysto in a charm Something like? |

How would this encourage them to be in a religion? |

For a shaman to forsake his spirits and take up the dedicated worship of a god is a huge sacrifice of his spirit-given abilities. This wouldn't encourage that, but rather offer a unique symbol of spirit-worship for shamans to wear. |

Like the mark of Dulrik, is a symbol of an open gauntlet. The mark of a shaman is the necklace. |

This is a pretty nifty idea. Not too ridiculous, considering you only get one symbol slot. There shouldn't be a GM increase, though. If there is any increase, it should be that the spirit necklace you create has more of a chance of getting a plus two mod on it with each increasing level. The idea that the shaman could then pick a totem to wear or use the parts of his enemies (this is really much more evil sounding) is really appealing. Two should really be enough, especially if one doll can give a plus two to some stat. That gives the shaman at least two mods for the symbol slot and four at best, which is more than good enough unless religion symbols are given a small boost. |

Pretty elite idea imo, but needs to be nerfed a bit. Shamans are too powerful in my book. So at best(aka at GM) this symbol should give up to +4 totally of everything combined(just like religion symbols more or less). The RP behind it is pretty nice, I know I'd love to have a necklace of Thayian or Frollith's dolls around Golg's neck(or even just some snake dolls), not to mention it's ridiculous how hard it is to get a symbol item for shamans that actually gives any bonuses(I know only one and it's not easy at all to obtain it - still I liked having +hp/me/pe on a shaman ![]() |

<worn as symbol> a spirit charm of a fytyrsk, a bat, a deep-elf or <worn as symbol> spirit dolls of Beethiok, Pilcestor, Nysto in a charm Something like? I said three of the same doll. Not just three dolls. I said three of the same doll to keep things in check. |
