It seems like there is always some religion or other that has such low membership that it's very hard to find the right people to get yourself invested. I really think it would be better to have investment be easier and HFs/imms use the blemish command more often. Could we have a two step system for investment? 1) Particularly for newbies (as determined by their answers in creation), priests, paladins, and hellions would have have a NPC in the training area tell them that they will need to seek out a religion and refer them to a help file in which "devote" was described. 2) Institute a new command "Devote" where a character can log their desire to join a religion. After a certain amount of time without being invested, this would trigger a note to imms (and HFs alike?) that this person is seeking a religion. After a very large amount of time (e.g., 3 wks IRL) you'd just automatically get invested with some kind of script and a corresponding tell would be sent to the relevant HF/ imm when they were logged on. Syntax: devote [god of choice] Discuss. |

I like the motivation of this idea, because often a dead religion stays dead because of difficulty of investment. However, this take a lot of the power of the HFs that are active away. For example: say I want to roll a Nashira necro. The current HFs of Nashira aren't going for it, so I use this command (when I notice the HFs aren't online) and wait the three weeks. Whoo! I just bypassed them. Once upon a time I was creating a paladin for Ain when there was no HF of the scale. From my understanding it took weeks to get her invested because the IMMs who are overseeing the active IMMless religions do not have the power to invest. I think giving them the ability to invest into the religions they're overseeing would speed everything along quite nicely. |

I like the idea of giving other imms the power to invest if they don't already have it. In terms of the "sneaking around the current HF" problem, you would just make sure the notification of the HF/ imm happens early so they have a chance to react to it. Also, I think this is only necessary for Priests, hellions, and paladins since they require a religion to be effective with their spells. Non-clergy could be prevented from using this command, or be subject to greater restrictions. |

This actually is now the case, we are able to cross-invest, but I always look for a PC to promote before jumping to the invest by NPC. When that's not possible, I'll do some RP and invest someone. A |

That makes me happy! I find it hard to believe that with a week or so of patience, prayer and perhaps a friendly PM to the IMM in charge of the religion that you would be without the flag for long. |

An addition to the devote idea: The HF or IMM can, at any point in the 3 week period, remove the "devoted" status from the character in the question, which would also prevent them from devoting to that god again. They could still be invested as it is right now, but that way the HF still has the final say. (Well, almost final...) |

Perhaps only for priest/Pallies/hellions. They HAVE to get in a church, other classes can wait a month or two. |
