My question is, is the sling skill also used for other thrown weapons for giants? Such as ore and ballista bolts since it is used for thrown stones? If not, is whatever skill group that ballista is in used when a ballista bolt is thrown?

Also I just noticed that boulders may be considered different int he game now than stones. Since giants get the boulder skill, is it only used for bouldrs, or and ballista, wheras sling would be used for smaller rocks?

This all leads up to my main question. Can Boulders, Ore and Ballista bolts be specialized in some manner.

A ballista bolt is a projectile fired by a ballista. It is a stationary object. Ore and boulders are fired by catapults or can be thrown by giants. When used with a catapult, it should check the siegecraft skill first, the crossbow or exotic skill level would be the secondary skill. When thrown, of course boulders and ore would use the boulder skill. Can you throw ballista bolts?

After testing, yes you can throw that type of ammo when you have the boulder skill. Of course there's probably some items that are not necessarily built properly out there that are described as a ballista bolt but are actually a siege bolt. I'm not sure if there was meant to be a distinction or what, but I'll look into those.

PS You cannot specialize in an innate skill same as griffons cannot specialize in their claws. However you can specialize in ballista or catapult.

Yes, giants can throw ballista bolts. It uses the boulder skill. My main question is about being able to specialize the boulder/ore/ballista bolt or the boulder skill. Obviously the forementioned are ammo, and the latter is a skill, but it would still be nice. I had some hope when I saw that thrown rocks use the sling skill, but I dont think it passes on to boulders.

Ahh, well the innate skill thing would make it a moot point then
