Yeah, I never got why FIST and Talon were separated.

I kinda understand Keeper and Hammer, but wtf, FIST and Talon should be a cabunal.

Ditch that cheater throwing skill they have and give them leadership.

Yeah, well, help files say that the FIST settle the disputes of the locals and stuff.

Maybe don't give them leadership, but just simply give them law immunity instead?

I forgot that they can now take trib NPCs into enemy territories.

Because there are and remain inate conflicts of interest which turn up. The Fist is not the military arm of Zhenshi. It does not operate on behalf of a single country. It's focus is universal. Their _primary_ goal and objectives differ, though they may have some very similar ideologies. There was a point of time in my playing period this concept was tackled in game between members of both factions. It was one of the most rewarding things I was involved with as far as the RP goes. Maybe something will happen in the future to change things. Maybe Dulrik will review that whole cabal/trib dual membership at some point... The groups aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. But neither are they/should they be joined at the hip.

Well, the FIST as they currently are ....well, what do they do?

I mean, what goals in general do the fist have that the Hammer do not? I've always been curious about that, because really, the fist are so insanely proactive anymore they're basically Hammer.

I understand the nostalgia and love for them that Dulrik has (calling the jedi of SK), but honestly, it's the only (my point of view) useless cabal in game. Anything it does is already handled by Talon, Hammer, Keepers, or Druids. Anyone want to give me a head's up as to what the hell they are supposed to be doing?

Perhaps you need to look again :)

The fist as I understand it is the only cabal that promotes peace over all.

Unfortunately, the way SK has changed over the years, the playerbase itself does not care much for such concepts. Still, for those of us that still enjoy such, there is the fist.
Think of the fist as the sages of SK. The jedi, if you like, without lightsabers.

Please tell me what the general goals are of the FIST. No fist has ever answered me this, so it gets a bit annoying.

What is the general purpose of the FIST? Keep in mind, 'promoting peace' doesn't exist on SK because you relic gank and war with others. You have your own cabal agenda, you don't want to see 'peace' with necromancers. So, please, someone justify the existence of this cabal?

Unfortunately, To answer this question, I'll need to bring IC information, so I'll just say you're wrong :)

Grakus, you're the kind of person I really would love having a good conversation with, because your arguements are always based on facts and not air, though, sometimes, you interpret those facts as they best suit your interest. The only reason I won't do such again, and the reason I've removed you from my YIM list, was because I find it silly when you taunt people you talk to to the point where they make mistakes in defending their opinion, on which mistakes you step upon to convince them.

I'd love to resolve this over YIM with you, but I'm afraid you've burned that card.

Erevan, don't take this the wrong way, but just because you're fist leader, doesn't mean you speak for why the fist exists.

I am speaking of the general guide of the cabal.

Example:

Druids are to keep order and natural cycle.
Harlequins are to cause general ruckus and chaos
Adepts are to be evil and stuff.
Hammer are to purge evil and protect the light countries.
Empire is to conquer the realms.
Fist are to...? Defend against evil and protect the light countries?

That's why I really don't get why the FIST exist. They -used- to serve a very valuable purpose before Talons and relics were involved, but now I think they need to become a grayish cabal, built on inner pacifism and peace, rather than any virtues of light.

That'd go a long way to balancing this horrible imbalance between factions in the game.

Its only natural for a lightie cabal to have that in its purpose, I think. As for the fist's main purpose, In one line I think it is

'To find enlightenment and improve pyrathia"

You could also say its

"To be more principled than principled" or "The cabal to join if you want an insane RP challenge in a game where pacifists and those who hate2fight usually have little choice but to"

Think of us as the Hammer's alter ego if you like. More or less same goals, Entirely different approach.
