Idea:
command: Stand ground
Using this command one orders his pet/charmed/animates to stand their ground and fight, even if he is no longer in the room. Stand ground works only after combat is initiated and of course the NPC that stands its ground no longer receives orders. As soon as the link between the caster and the charmed is broken, the NPC acts according to its own AI.

Example:
Noob sorc enters room with big bad NPC, noob sorc knows he will die both him and his charmed. He orders his charmed to stand his ground while the noob sorc makes a hasty retreat. Noob sorc is now safe, far from the NPC's tracking range and the charmed is most probably dead.

I know this might appear overpowered, nevertheless, I felt like proposing it simply because I like the idea.

I have to say - no. Imagine a necro ordering a horde of undead in PK to stay ground while he goes around to bring some more.

That, apparently does not work.

As for the necro, maybe have just one NPC at a time standing its ground.

Speed dart and use teleport to get away from an aggro NPC/your angry charmed NPC.
