This topic has probably already been touched, but why should one have to come out of the shadows to communicate through mind? Thinking involves no movement. If anyone can give a short answer it would be good because I know this is probably beating a dead horse, Im just lazy and dont want to read 1000 different post. Thanks

That's actually a good question - and it might have come up, but I don't remember it. You can make tells from camo, so the same SHOULD hold true for hide.

Cabal channel breaks hide as well.

Because you have to reach both hands up to touch your fingers to the sides of your head and make that "whoaum whoaum whoaum whoaum whoaum whoaum whoaum" noise with your mouth to signify that you're doing mental things.

It's hard to stay hidden with the sound effects and the weird sci-fi music that plays everytime you do it.

Yah, but you can speak outloud and emote while camoed so, thats why.

Because the obviously correct way to hide is to close one's eyes, via the unbreakable rule "If I can't see them, they can't see me." The problem with having your eyes closed, however, is that you can't sense anyone else on the who list. In fact, when the who list is accessed while hiding, it's really only supplying you with a carbon copy of the who list from the last time you accessed it, and even looking in your current room briefly causes you to become visible as you "blink" your eyes open, such that if someone were to look at the exact same time as a hidden person did, they would see them.

Therefore, in order to communicate with someone else mentally, you must open your eyes to "see" them, which also allows everyone else to see you, since you can now see them. As a result, everyone sees you as stepping out of the shadows.

Actually, I just think it's a balance thing. The hide skill is extremely powerful, and if it were possible to send tells while hidden, then it would be simply broken.

All the answers are good, but hide is just as powerful as invisible and camo, and they do not require to lose the "stealth" so I wish an immortal would answer so maybe they will see that it should or should not be fixed(with a reasonable explination)

Hide is not just as powerful as invis and camo. You can speak while camouflaged and can do anything short of engaging in combat and stay invis. That said, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to send tells while hidden.

Count me in, too. I always found it stupid.
