To all you faiths out there that lack a favored priest...I feel your pain. I know my faith is not the only one that lacks a favored priest. There are many disadvantages to the faith when there is no active favored priest, but one of the most important one is the lack of symbols.

Now, I propose one priest(ess) NPC, in one select temple, that when there is no active favored priest, or just favored priest in general, you can say or do a religion specific trigger, and the said NPC will create a symbol for you.

I am a believer that faiths should rp with pc priests for the symbols and whatnot, but when you have a faith who lacks said priest, and in a religion where there is lower incentive to play a priest (lack of new nifty spells that and won't even receive them for a long time from now), it puts the faith in a bind.

Of course the symbol trigger should be kept IC and I fancy the notion of each faith having their specific trigger. Undoubtedly it will be known and transferred oocly but o well, that happens.

That used to be the case, till the day the imms decided that symbols should be cherished. That, at least is the answer I was getting when I was asking for something similar.

Why don't all High Followers gain the holy symbol spell? That way if you are High Follower the holy symbol spell will be on your spell list no matter what profession. I feel HFs should be blessed enough to create symbols no matter what their profession, after all they are praying to their deity for the symbol.

There is a symple command for this.

The gods should be able to provide for you a symbol if there is no current HF that can. Otherwise, there will be an HF. If not the IMM's are negelcting their duty. Their is no reason to [REDACTED] about this.

You only need patience.

I have taken lead over a religion that is without HF as far as I have heard. If you think that no action has been taken to reward someone with such a position, take it upon yourself.

Actually, I like the idea that if your religion lacks a priest. Then a certain NPC will activate and one will be able to get religious symbols. It is only active if and only if there are no active favored priests.

The only way to get a holy symbol should be by role-play. Either with an IMM or another PC. NPCs should not be handing these out or even possessing holy symbols. I'll destroy any symbol I see on a NPC. I'll remove any script that loads a holy symbol. They are not candy. They are precious.

This seems more like a pantheon thread then a gameplay thread. Thuban is a fairly small church but we have 2 favored priests I believe.

Odd, locating for one, gives you an abundance of a certain faith's symbol carried by certain NPCs.
I counted at least 75 laying around.
