Now I know this is kind of a duh situation but hell, it happens to the best of us. I went to attack a NPC by its discription but I forgot it was the same desc as my mounts whom I was riding.

So, I was wondering, because naturally no one in their right mind would be dumb enough to attack their own mount, and because it is a pure mechanical/player stupid mistake, that there be a code put in place that will call the person out for wanting to attack the horse you are mounted on. Kind of like what it says when you type attack self or attack *your description*.

Just an idea.

Understood, but you can always find a different description, of the one you are attacking too. I would guess that would be your logical response. It's something everyone experiences I am sure.

I did this recently with a low level character, sure I realised my mistake, but at novice it didn't matter because the mount kicked my [REDACTED] in seconds. Fortunately, I had set it to stun.

In short... a good and sensible idea.

Last I checked disguise could make you attack yourself as well. I fully admint to killing myself a good number of times to this "mistake". This is how it works. Assume you are a "blue-eyed" male human. If a rogue/scout disguises himself with that adj, and you try to attack them this is what will happen.

A blue-eyed male human walks in from the west.

C "pick a harmfull spell" blue-eyed

<keep in mind he would be 1.blue eyed because he was the last one to walk in the room>

You start to concentrate.

A blue-eyed male human walks east.

GUESS WHAT YOU JUST BECAME 1.blue-eyed!

So you cast the spell at yourself. At least this is how it was when I played a few years ago. I complained about a code change then, but don't know if there was ever something that happened. Needless to say, it was very frustrating killing myself over and over.

However to add, this was three years ago, and my memory could be faulted on this. However I think this is how it worked.

I polymorphed into a deep-elf a while back and forgot I did it then I started casting colorspray on deep-elves and nailed myself and my group. I only cast twice but still it was dumb. I've seen a person kill themselves by accidentally casting acidblast on themselves.

Haha, poor hammer party. Dragon > drathios.

Yeah, this game really needs a refined targetted system and the ability to stop concentrating on spells by inputting commands into the game. (Ie, if you type who while casting, it stops casting and brings up who).

That was me.

Spamming c acid dem (targetting a demon) when your name is Demduldin is just a really bad idea.

Dude I've done a lot better than getting Drathios' [REDACTED] wooped by the midnight dragon.

As Amberdin, spammed c 'acid blast' earth because I was bored, trying to kill an earth golem with Loqui (earthen male centaur) in the room. Guess who became a splat male centaur. And so many more it ain't funny.

I'm an awesome PKer as long as the person I'm PKing is in my party.

I took a group of lower level people to the cursed woods not so long ago. Flamey adjective things attack us and all of them must have typed 'kill fla' - it was almost a bloodbath as I started hacking through them. Fortunately I realised their mistake and fled. It turned out they were all just letting the attack continue, wondering what was going on!

I shoulda killed them all for the insolent behaviour! (At least I could put 3 kills to my name)
