This is just a little caveat of mine. When a character runs out of xp for training skills or spells you tend to give this message to them:

Quote:
You exclaim to Cara 'Go away! Gain some more experience before coming back here!'

Which always seemed to me to be rather rude, and in some cases just plain out-of-character for some characters.

Could the messages be changed, perhaps to reflect alignment?

I thought the exact same thing.

I would replace it with

Code:
You PUNCH Cara in the FACE!
You say to Cara "Oh, I'm sorry.  I thought you had enough experience to block that.  Guess you need to go earn more."

i dislike the entire context of that phrase. wtf do you mean 'get some more -experience- in order for me to teach you a language?

it just seems overly OOC to me. Perhaps something like 'It seems your head cannot handle any more information for the day' would be more appropriate, though it won't tell you you need to go get 'the exp' to learn more.

It's just telling you that you're not experienced enough to learn what he's trying to teach, that's not OOC.

Screaming at the poor newbies is kinda harsh though.

I didn't say it was ooc, it just seemed rather mean and harsh to be telling them to go away and gain more xpz before I'd see them again.

Yeah, I know. I was responding to Erevan, I guess I should have quoted him.

Would be nice if we could personalize the message...

At least a different message per alignment

I would love to see the diabolical one...

"If you don't learn twice as much within the next fifty seconds, I will personally go to your house and kill your wife, daughter, dog, and take your fish out of its tank so it suffocates, and then I'm going to drag you back there and make you lick up the blood until you can't feel your tongue, and then I'm going to cut you open with a rusty knife and punch you in the bladder so you can die a very slow and painful death and watch yourself doing it. Now go train."
