What Cion suggests is that your character can dub characters that havn't greeted you to get around people with lamer adjectives such as self-centered and spirited...or shining male elf whatever... And example nr 2 just states that these people could of course still disguise and be unrecognized to you...

but this will ruin all the Spirited twinks (and the other ones. I just picked them)...

I understand that. That's why I put no.

I actually really like the idea. Unless I'm missing something, I think it solves two problems.
1) The whole "I know who you are but I've ICly forgotten your name even though I shouldn't have"

2) The name abuse. I can set enemies to names that are hard to abuse, so that they can't have a similar names to pets, etc...

Dont forget adjectives to... you can change the adjective...

If I read the original post correctly, I like the basic idea, because in addition to its debilitative effect on adj/pet-name abuse, it would allow characters to exchange names [be they their legitimate names, fragments thereof, or made-up aliases] informally in situations where all the advantages and disadvantages of the 'greet' system don't quite seem appropriate RPwise.

Perhaps I overrated peoples ability to draw the meaning from the TITLE and Example.

The idea works like this

1.You meet someone, a lithe female elf. She doesnt GREET you but tells you her name is Ulla. With the dub command you can DUB her Ulla, so you see: ULLA is here. This means that the next time a lithe female elf walks in, you know its not ULLA. It also removed the twinkish adjectives. I also propose another command

Auto target-people-with-adjectives

When its off you can only target people who have either greeted you or people you have dubbed.

Pros and cons

Pros. You no longer accidently hit that deep elf in your group when targeting the deep-lyinlove elf.

Cons. When people discuise you cannot target them without targeting their race.

I would say also, that if this is inacted, perhaps we should get rid of the greet command... So people COULD easily lie about who they are by giving the wrong name... and not having the "why arent you greeting me" BS that happens... and it would be even better lies if you are a class that can change adjectives..
