I suggest changing spear of faith to 'Hammer of Faith'. Priests don't get 'spear' as a skill, so it makes little sense they are throwing these spears. They do get mace though so changing it might be a little more thematic for the priests. I was going to suggest offering the option of making it a permanent object they can use as a spiritual weapon too, but that might be too much like a certain cabal spell. If it was a less powerful version of that for priests, would it be acceptable? |

Meh. I like spear of faith the way it is. Causing your god's divine wrath to shoot out of the palm of your hand at your enemy! It can't get much cooler than that. |

Actually, it doesn't shoot out of your palm at someone. It appears in your hand, and you throw it. I just felt that if priests are going to be throwing something with a spell, it should be something that's inline with their skill set. No priests in SK are amazons and they don't have the spear skill. They do have maces though! Just for giggles: Quote: A dim spear of darkness appears in PriestX's hand! PriestX tosses his glowing spear at MobileY and rejoices as it hits him. You could easily change this to: Quote: A dim hammer of darkness appears in PriestX's hand! PriestX tosses his glowing hammer at MobileY and rejoices as it hits him. For the kill message, you get: Quote: A dim spear of darkness appears in PriestX's hand! PriestX's faithful spear impales MobileY's chest, killing her instantly. You can change it to: Quote: A dim spear of darkness appears in PriestX's hand!
PriestX's faithful hammer impacts MobileY's chest, killing her instantly. Note: You would also have to change the magic resist message and saving throw message, but it would be very similiar. |

A priest's hand is guided by a divine force when he tosses his spear. His lack of ability with an ordinary spear has nothing to do with his ability to toss and aim a holy javelin. A thrown spear seems much cooler to me then a thrown holy hammer. Leave it, please. Peace, Bux |

Besides, who can argue with the image of divine energy manifesting itself in the form of a spear and then streaking towards the unfaithful, ripping their chest to shreds as it sinks into their flesh, splaying blood about the area and cauterizing the wound almost instantly? That is delicious. If anything needs to be adjusted, it's flamestrike. It's messages are misleading; it sounds like it does amazing damage but I bet a priest could flick boogers and do more harm than that. |

The hammer issue could be solved by changing the cabal's central weapon to a SWORD. |

If it gets changed to a hammer people are going to ask why it doesnt do more against bunt vulnerable creatures. Spear has no such problem. Also hammer is a lot closer to spiritual hammer an old D&D spell which if I am not mistaken is copy write. Goldie not to have a go at you but its a lot harder to "Crush the infidels under a sword of justice!" I like the Hammer of light. The saber of light just sounds wanky. |
