I think it would be a nice addition if you could change your action while sitting, sleeping and resting. Wouldn't be hard. Make 'is sitting, is resting, is sleeping' the same as 'is'. |

suggested before, still nothing. It doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to do, but nothing's been done in the millenia between threads bringing this up. By the way, I'd appreciate it if nobody would start talking about target emotes in this thread. Let's just focus on sitting/resting/sleeping stuff. |

While I would certainly see great satisfaction from this change, for many tactical reasons, I could see problems with it. For instance, the fact that you can't have your action changed while sleeping means that anyone who can see you knows you're sleeping. If you could change your action to say something else, they may not realize you are actually asleep. A situation may occur where a character who would normally kill you because you're asleep and defenseless would not, because they wouldn't realize it. Actions could become a tool used to trick other characters, and while that's in a way possible right now, ("Othet is sleeping here" - I did use that once way back for a reason.) I don't want it easier to do so. |

Well, that's what I'm saying. When your asleep and you type action, your asleep, no matter what you set your action to. If it was changed and your asleep and you set you action you would have to have the end of the sentence of your action match up to 'xxx is sleeping' or 'xxx is resting' etc. It already has the different actions for each different position with a perma message of sit rest sleep, each one probably able to have its own action set to it. |

It was most recently discussed here - too tired to wade through it all again, but it came to naught. Of course, this went into voice and gait actions also, went into further depth. If you now suggest that the action would be tacked on to any of the default actions, I think it might be a slightly new spin on the repeated beggings for action changes. That is, you type "action here, trimming her nails with her blade" and of course you'd get the standard: Threnody is here, trimming her nails with her blade. If you type sit, you get: Threnody is sitting here, trimming her nails with her blade. etc? Of course, that leads for plenty of opportunities for looking stupid, but so does the current action. Just be mindful as you always would have to when you move around. Otherwise I think it's going back into things that have been debated to no avail. But please, please, please, can action be somehow similarly spiffy-fied? I hate sacrificing an RP tool just because if I don't rest when I can, I can't hold spells and will undoubtedly die. (Well, that was Adara, but I know she wasn't alone in that choice.) And since this is the game where RP and tactics collide...it's not safe to ditch the tactics altogether unless you're fond of the River. |

It seems to me that "resting" and "sleeping" are actions in and of themselves. |
