Much to my dismay and through much denial, I've come to accept the two handed axes SUCK! This SUCKS and I would like to point out that there is no possible way for this not to SUCK unless you make it so that axes don't SUCK. I hate that everyone uses the same swords and the same daggers and the same mauls. I think Dulrik needs to make some serious changes on this front. With the exceptions of those leet scripted and exotic weapons, the only things anyone would dare use against anything that may threaten them, is a sword and shield. Unless your a giant, even then, you would be either stupid or determined to use the axe instead of the sword. Suggestion, make the axes faster. or Make the axes do more damage. If you disagree, well, my left nut needs licking. |

*licks away at that nut* Perhaps I should add that I have a rather strong faith in a greataxe specced hasted and gianstrengthed dwarf merc with 25 con, small size dodge bonus and a mustache like Chuck Norris... JeanV |

Weapons with different speeds are useful for different classes. Pause for a moment and look at the classes with combat casting. Slow speed doesnt matter because if you are casting you attack once a around. Look at shamans who only get two attacks around. Not all weapons where made for a merc just because a merc can use them. Also remember the recent dwarf update Axes will get their uses now. Thats not even mentioning skills where damage is a key factor not speed. |

It seems kinda outta place for a caster to be wielding a ginormous axe that is as big as them. And as far as your faith in axes with them buffs and stats, the exact same char with a good sword and shield and same buffs would win. |

Axes suck. No fighter class should use them. But then, maces and staffs suck, too, which is unfair to them. It implies these weapons are inherently weaker, and they arguably, aren't. Ha, when flails came into play IRL they left a lasting impression (or rather several of them) on the said victims. Oh, well. I don't think D's going to change that, and if people are content with the same weapon types being stroven for, so be it. |

That's my problem. I'm not content. I want to pick a weapon based on my character. Currently, the way SK weapons are, it's always put me at the bottom rung with all the Tactical people running around with the best possible combination of gear they can find. It's like, what is the point of having all these weopons. No one uses them, except people like me, who just get mad because they suck and get me killed. I mean come on, a giant [REDACTED] axe against your sword, why is the sword the one with the most damage output? It doesn't make sense. |

I agree, axes are definately not as bad as you make them. Stick to battle and great axes and you'll see... |
