I really like this unique race, they have many RP probabilities and generally, ... I like Dwarves. Still we see that there are almost none available, every experienced player will definitely choose a Giant over a dwarf in a heartbeat. The reasons are quite obvious, a Giant will get (sorry for bringing up numbers but its faster) 25 Strength and 24 Constitution. While a Dwarf will get 21 Strength and 25 Constitution also the weapon size parameter seems to be another drawback. Now, RP wise, yes I can see a gnome or even a Halfling have a hard time dealing damage with a small weapon, but the sturdy, stubborn Dwarf should not have a problem. I do not propose turning them into a super race, but the fact that their numbers keep decreasing should make it obvious that something should be done to balance up the race. Probably something to negate their small weapon size. Thoughts? |

Mental attacks. Lightning weakness. Giants are not that great compared to dwarves. They can be owned easily, unless well prepared. A dwarf doesn't have to invest to 40+ willpower and some way to keep RE up so a sleep, charm or call lightning spell won't rape him. It's like saying griffons get sick attributes and quite a few racial immunities so they need to be tuned down. No they don't, griffons need attributes because they have certain weaknesses(no slots aka no saves). It's up to how much willing the player is in getting some preparation. |

They deal such pathetic damage that all the other benefits of them are just null and void. After a month of playing one, I couldn't take it anymore. They're extremely inferior and even their impossibly small, almost unnoticiable hp gain isn't worth it. |

I'm willing to bet that the damage modifiers by size aren't all that big in the first place. There's nothing wrong with dwarves. Save that they can't be paladins or hellions. |

I dunno, let's dig up the fossilized remains of dwarves in a bit. |

Dwarves are normally medium sized, not sure why they are small in SK. They might be short but muscular enough to grant them the same size modifier as a human. |

I remember Aedus rocking the world. Have code changes been made since then? |

Dwarves completely blow giants out of the water, and any newbie that thinks otherwise is just that, the only downfall that dwarves have is the fact that no one gives them a chance, a dwarf barbarian > a giant barbarian any day, and a dorf merk properly played as a dwarf mark (aka TANK) will no spec in things like bspear and such, and will spec in things that are good for parrying already, to enhance their parry and everything and just blow their enemy out of the water, dwarven CON is elite, giants have too many weaknesses, dwarves will hardly ever get hit if properly prepared, and an MC d0rf is damn near godly with emperors favor. I played Jarold and I think Cannibal would agree that under the new coding being I was really the only GM dwarf barb after all that [REDACTED] coding, my dwarf was a damn fine tank, espically after he GMed, what people need to do is stop complaining about not being elite, because its all about the players readiness in PK, and not the stats of the char. Size dmg Giant > dwarf dodging/parrying/avoiding Dwarf > Giant Constitution Dwarf > Giant Str Dwarf = Giant with GS Dexterity Dwarf > Giant Weaknesses Dwarf > Giant RPed awesomeness Dwarf > Giant Level of skill to play Giant > Dwarf (Even newbies can be good with giants, it takes skill to own with a dwarf) You need to know that if your playing a dwarf, your a tank, and not a dmg dealer, you soak up damage, and deal a little, but you SOAK up the enemies damage, for your other men to do the dmg job. DWARF > GIANT |

Oh, and Thayian at size small dropped Karn in like 5 rounds without taking more than 10 dmg, so Dorf > size small paladin easy. |
