I'm starting to figure you out a bit I think. You see only what you want to see. To me this doesn't support your position at all. All this says is Frollith would hold a shield for lack of anything better.

Inspite of all the attention grabbing by this fellow, believe it or not I can't remember his name and I don't want to scroll up while I type this to find it, it still looks like priests should have shield block. There's seven times as many people in favor of it as against.

No, what that means is that it does help but it has as much advantage as anything else. Therefore, it is balanced.

What it might also mean is Frollith didn't know where to get good scrolls/staves/items so he settled for a shield he enchanted up for himself.

As far as priests and shield block... I used a shield with Adrienne, but not with Severa. Hard to tell the difference because they were such different builds and I was such a noob on Adrienne.

I would use a shield as a priest.

My opinion is fact. Bow down and stare in wonder at it.
