Probably not, but Blitz can be retooled into something a lil more useful, scrape it and add a chance at hit to allow the merc to gain one addition strike in combat with his weapon. Just set the chance to something like 5-10% when mastered but can only proc every so often after each other. So once he gains the one addition strike, he won't be able to gain another for 5-10 seconds but still at a percentage of a chance of happening.

That would be alot more effective and no way over powering and actually see the skill getting used.

hm. Here's an idea. What if blitz is a toggle skill much like skirmish.

Activatable when you are fighting with a slashing weapon, drains a bit PE and ME per combat round, and strikes once on every melee opponent attacking you. One extra to the one you're targeting if he is fighting you, and one on everyone else.

This means mercs will have reason to spec on really slow, really damaging weapons, just to get that attack, but yeah. Maybe the PE/ME drain can be related to the weapon's speed. Slower weapon takes a much larger effort to swing arround and such.

why not make all melee weapons blitzable?


Or at least any weapon with a certain weapon speed

The problem with giving all weapons of X speed blitz is that damage vs speed is a key factor so most weapons you could then blitz with would be a waste of time.

How ever blitz lag time changing on speed of weapon might make quicker weapons able to get a blitz in between basher lag and bashie lag making quicker weapons more viable.

How ever I still feel the best change to blitz would be to add lag to those hit by it. I see this as not being a buff because the number of times you need to blitz means chances are you are going to miss at least once per battle. It works really well with the idea that a merc is a group fighter over one on one.
If the lag doesnt cause your foe to end up resting the damage between blitzing continually and bashing would be similar depending on weapon speed and damage.
It would also make accuracy in weapons more important for mercs working with specializing in a type of weapon that useful for blitzing.

Just to point out - solving for other weapon options will not get people to use blitzkrieg more. You need to either reduce the lag on it or have it induce some kind of negative effect on opponents (ala dirt, bash, or hamstring). Otherwise it will always be better to use bash, trip, dirt kick, or disarm.

I like either just making it a no-lag skill that can be used once every few rounds or giving it a chance to lag opponents, though this might be slightly overpowering.

It'd be cool if blitzkrieg was made into some sort of "mass rescue" that forced everyone that is fighting anyone in your group to retarget on you. Then a group with three mercenaries would instantly be top tier.

We have that already in game. It's called 'taunt'.
