Sling requires you to be in the same room, which sucks.

I've seen a barbarian own a necromancer with an entourage of wraiths with a sling before. It can't be that bad.

Yeah, which is the only time in maybe forever that a barb or anyone has used slings in PvP.

This thread just reminds me that mithril and adamantite are way too abundant in this game. They are supposed to be rare, legendary materials and in this game almost every single PC walks around dressed in mithril/adamantite/energy gear.

Yeah. You're right. Let's get rid of a lot of it so people get into RAWRSOME arpees like killing just for fat loot 500x more than they do already.

Think [REDACTED] gets hoarded now?

I need a citation where they are supposed to be rare legendary materials.

I still don't understand how this would get barbarians any closer to Conan as the OP intended. Seems like this all stemmed from 1-2 real experienced players who know they could make a real tough dragonscale barb throwing that out as the assumed norm as if a switch to light armor would mean all barbs running around in scale instead of "armor". Yeah, a leather/scale armor wearing barb is probably more traditional barbarianish. But realistically, nobody's gonna be in leather. You'll just have barbarians running around in mithril (and, since decent mithril's real harder to come by, a lot of experienced but newbish players just not playing barbs at all, but whatever). Is mithril really that much more in line with your guys idea of the Conanic form of a barbarian than adamantite?

Seems like I'm the vocal minority as I'm 1 of 2 no votes, but I just don't get it.

The way I had pictured it, toughness would be buffed to be better than mithril, unless the mithril was all greater MP. I guess that might not be a good idea, though. I dunno. I definitely wasn't looking to get barbs to switch to mithril suits.

The other point you made earlier in the thread is a good one. This change would be adding RP possibilities, but it would also be taking some away. Ideally, a change could be made to make the leather-wearing barb viable without buffing the addy-wearing barb. idk.
