I would argue this because backstab's mechanics make it a lot more powerful than cleave.

I like the idea of being able to steal coin (only) from a container with higher risk. Good ideas there Alshain

Who said coin only? Being able to steal Word of Recall potions from containers seems like a very good tactical ability that Rogues should have.

I should clarify that my suggestion was indeed intended to be theft of coin from containers, not theft of anything from containers. I'll edit my post to reflect what I meant.

Why not just allow steal to have a "coin" argument, and let the mud automagically select coin in containers -- making it more difficult -- and giving an amount of the total coin based on skill success? That way the rogue can still peek and make the call whether or not they want to make the gamble, and the victim can still make the decision to keep things safer from wandering fingers, huh?

Simple is good. Options are good too. Simple options are even better. :P

Also, you should be able to throw coins as a weapon. Just putting that on the table.

I still think rogues should be able to steal anything from containers. If you're going to make steal somewhat more annoying you might as well go all the way with it.

Force everyone to add "open container" and "close container" to their potion chugging macros.

Rogues are still really good, this doesn't break rogues. Though it does take a bit of the fun out of them. Stealing all someones hard earned coin after 3 hours of grinding and getting so much of it they can't fit it into their backpacks is always fun.
