If I had $100 bill for everytime someone said this, I would have a lot of $100 bills. And while the dollar isn't as good as a euro these days, a lot of $100 bills would still make me happy.

Alter logic from:

destroy object
check target exist
check target save (if any)
affect target

to

check target exist
destroy object
check target save (if any)
affect target

Probably four or five lines of code shuffled for each skill, scroll/wand/stave(in rare cases where it has a target).

Quick, easy, and better.

Make it so.

The lag time on recite would need to be increased an absolute fuck-ton, otherwise you could recite spam, which is the one valid reason for this not to happen.

You can already spam things like bash/backstab/charge/cleave to initiate combat, I don't see why recite should be any different.

Even so, I wouldn't be opposed to around a one round lag time between recite commands, successful or not, as long as it doesn't burn the scroll/wand charge if they aren't in the room.

All of which you mentioned have requirements(front row/open back/reach weapon/etc) Recite has no such requirements, triple FoD/Harm scrolls and such are close to the same amount of damage as these with no positional requirements at all, on either side.

Good point.

I'd be fine with putting the standard recite/zap lag on null target recites/zap where the target isn't in the room, just so it can't be spammed.
