I too would like to offer forth a deep felt apology for this happening. I was completely flabbergasted when the deep-elf in question fired off the spell that started combat. Both me and my character (though my character was upset for RP reasons I can't explain on the forum) were very upset. I voiced my concern IC, but unfortunately outside of voicing my concern to the deep-elf there wasn't much I could do.

My first major character was a deep-elf. She was my first GM character and at one point was part of a powerhouse group. She had plenty of opportunities to use enmity as an excuse to slaughter young elves, but instead I chose the newbie friendly version and mocked them for their weakness and their inability to kill me.

I also hate 5v1 gank squads. So even if you were not a low level (which I know you were and stated so IC) I think it is appalling for such a large group to attack a solo player.

Again, I'm truly sorry you had to run into this. The majority of the players in that group would have stopped it if they could have. I personally will be much more careful about joining groups with certain players in the future, in the very least making it clear that I'm not out to gank those who don't deserve it.

Again, very sorry.

BTW, he couldn't have been that low, I don't think, he took like 30 dmg from a GM harm, anything below like j-man would have nearly died

I could kill him naked, so he was low enough. Plus he was alone. There was really no reason to kill him. If she wanted to RP enmity so badly, she could have left the group and stunned him.

Or maybe her harms just suck. :P

If he's an elf, wouldn't the harm done less damage to him simply for being an elf?

Though I agree with said priest being suck.

I can't believe so many people in this thread endorse the on-sight killing of lowbies due to their enmity. Sure, mock them. Steal from them, if you want. STUN them after talking, if you really need to make your point. And if the RP goes there and they seem like they have it coming, yeah, kill them. But on sight??? I know if I had gone around killing every deep-elf I saw, there'd be a huge [REDACTED] cryfest on the forums. In my experience I always thought it was viewed as an unacceptable thing to do.

I don't think a single person in this thread was endorsing it. There's a difference between endorsing and saying they are breaking the rules. If that person started killing newbies continuously, that would be a completely different situation that would involve administrative action. But a single instance that may well have been a mistake? What would you have me do about that?

I don't think anybody is endorsing it. Most of us are acknowledging that it happens from time to time and that it sucks. There's not a lot to do beyond that.

I can't MAKE a character without you noobs instantly wanting to kill them for being pure awesomeness.
