Once again Grakus, pull out a log that happened after all of the changes. Also, stop posting cabal skills in the open forums you idiot. Go whine about the fist in the fist thread. We are not discussing them here.

That did happen after the change. It happened within the past week even.

And, we're talking about shaman vs. fist shaman, vs priest vs fist priest, vs. shaman vs. priest, by the way.

The fist part is being brought in to show they are insane when given certain abilities.

Let me say this one more time. WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT ANY CABAL BUILDS! THIS IS FOR GENERIC SHAMAN BUILDS. I can also put it in four different languages if it will help with the reading comprehension.

People are going to join cabals. You need to address the cabal/race/class combos as well. You realize that right? Otherwise, you will have underpowered generics and overpowered caballics.

Cabal characters and trib chars are SUPPOSED to be more powerful. But -how- much more powerful should they be?

Achernar says they are worthless. Cyra says they are useful. I say they are useful as well, and in the fist they are overpowered.

I just want some numbers. I don't care about logs that you can post. Also, not everyone is gonna put a shaman in the Fist. I say generic because if they go into a trib, there isn't much of a boost in power in terms of PK.

You kidding? Free level 45+ law NPC to run around with you and give you buffs?

I'd say tribs are better than some cabals!

"Recent" changes that have hurt shamans. One Spirit aura was changed making it weaker. Also the way MP and sanctuary and spirit aura dealt with damage was changed. Art added an extra strain on stat points needed, also the change to sleep spell so you can sleep someone then stack maledictions. These are a few reasons I can think of why shamans are less popular than before. Giving spirit aura to barbs how ever doesnt improve the situation really would make the choice between barb and merc different rather than shaman priest.

Oh, and Grakus, shamans don't get protection - it is easily obtainable through devices though and I see your point, just thought I'd point it out.

About the change: I am all for shamans being able to cast spirit aura on barbarians - however, there should be some penalization, either by capping the spell level of the SA on the barbarian to 25-30 or by having added concentration, as was suggested.

Also, I am against limiting SA to shamans/barbs - making them able to cast and sustain it is plenty of boosting because SA vials last like ... 2 ticks.

I'm thinking that a shaman can only protect one person at a time with spirit aura. If he casts it on the barbarian, he's undefended.

On a completely side tangent, if these Fist shaman are so heavy duty, how come they don't have a better PK score? I haven't really been impressed with anything PK-wise recently from there. If its so broken and overpowered, why aren't they over-running the cabal and everyone else in the game? The answer is, its not the class so much, as player capability. Elite shaman use nice scripted gear and tons of magical staves. Any player with the finest gear will be more effective in PK. In the past year or so, there's only been one or two effective shamans. While they may be able to land a PK once in a while, its not going to make the shaman more powerful by being able to cast his best defensive spell on someone else instead of himself, it simply gives them the option. Remember, shaman lose their ability to hold a target in place without their spirit aura. Also, barbarians are never going to be Fist members. This right here is going to draw a little bit of a line in the sand between them.
