Someone was doing a pretty bangup job tonight with a necromancer, despite this thread. Maybe in spite of.

You know according to Grakus, that has to be a lie. According to him, necromancers are the worst class in SK currently. [/end sarcasm]

My philosophy of how necromancers should be played is very different than Dulrik's. I feel mine would be better suited for SK, he disagrees. Mine would simply make it less costly in terms of time and restrict a necromancer's overall power without making them silly-stupid to play.

The only reason a necro does anything anymore is they kill players who are on the bottom rung of the pk-ladder.

It's impossible to die to a necromancer if you aren't caught by surprise and are competent.

Grakus, the more I read on this thread, the more I am convinced:

You want a tweak on necros not for game-balance issues, but simply because -as you, yourself stated in these forums- currently play one.

So, which necro do I play? Just curious, since you all seem so convinced.

And again, you can ask Dulrik, I've been advocating changes for necromancers (the -same- set of chances, too) for since I last played one. So I say again, how does me playing a necro currently or not affect anything?

I am not the one who says you play a necro - I would not post such info here on my own, even if I knew who you play. I thought it was you who posted that you play a necro currently. Perhaps I remember wrong.

How are other classes getting into this discussion?

Energy drain is fine, necromancers are fine too. They don't need tweaked at all.

I concur that no changes are needed for necromancers.

Something I just thought off that I do not like; tribunals that have NPCs with holy word. Members who would trigger them to concentrate on it, and then walk the NPCs into necromancers. Giving the necromancer no chance to react, and nuke the hell out of them. Stopping this would help necros a lot, since they can concentrate and react against holy words.

The only way to do that is to be in a two person group at least. The lag time on order is much longer than holy word. Which means you are fighting against a three person group. Give them a chance ? Although I do agree the number of holy wording guards should be limited a bit more although not removed.

Not with 22 cha or 23/24.

I am pretty sure it is possible with 20 charisma too. Never head a problem doing this with Worts since I reached GM.
