Why shouldn't a tribunal be allowed to use its soldiers to fight a cabal its at war with? Cabals can use their spells in cities. It may require tweaking, but the idea is right now.

PS~ I also think this overpowers the MC, theoretically, but I haven't seen it do so in practice.

When tribunals pay for wars, they get something out of it. They can take their guards into the places that they are at war with. When cabals pay for wars, they get something, they may hold onto their opponents relic. If either opponent does not want to be the victim of this, they should find ways to negotiate a truce with the faction in question. Midnight has costs of raids and bounty NPCs. I would think they would have to pay a lot of gold to maintain any long standing war.

No cabal is immune to this threat. It's still possible, although more difficult, to bring soldiers to an enemy HQ even if you aren't at war with the surrounding kingdom. I'll leave people to figure out how for themselves.

Whether it's fair or not, we'll have to see. As always, I reserve the right to change (or not change) any feature at any time for any reason.

The biggest issue I see with this comes back to the imbalance of good/natural kingdoms vs. bad/unnatural kingdoms. There might be a truce between the keepers, guardians, talons, and adepts, but it is more likely than not that they will often have a three on one war. This feature effectively doubles the bodies that can be used in raids, and I don't think the law NPCs would necessarily be counted as attackers.

-If- this stays in place, the very least that needs to be done is to have law NPCs be counted as attackers and defenders and allow allies to bring their NPCs in to help defend as well. I am curiously awaiting people to use this on a grand scale, but the initial look into it does not good at all for our favorite darkie cabal.

You give me a tool like this, and I'm gonna take it as far as I can and then some. I came decently close to soloing that thing, and I was gonna go for a third try, but it was 6 AM.

Salandarin, that's SOOO not a good endorsement.

Ok, I just came back from vacation and went through some things after the code update. This thing with infinite throwing spears on some NPCs is really, really bad for all caster classes. How are they supposed to train? :o At least don't make them crumble so QUICKLY so NPCs get insta re-equipped with them, or make it that the SAME NPC doesn't find more of them in its inventory the MOMENT they crumble (and before it has even died).

They do not throw as often as they used to, and they do have a limited amount of spears due to the fact throw takes a good chunk of PE to use. It would be neat so see if someone could charm and cast refresh on it and see if it really does have an unlimited amount of throwable objects. Leveling for newbies will suck hardcore unless they read the help files and ask for a mentor for help.

Most newbies are not going to think to position themselves behind a pet unless they've already been "helped" by a mentor. Since that's the only common situation where this will apply to real newbies, it barely affects them.
