I'm not suggesting losing XP for a jailbreak. I'm suggesting that if you hang yourself in jail, your crimes would be cancelled but you'd lose XP. The amount of XP lost would be based on time left to serve and it would be major. As a preliminary ballpark figure, maybe 1 level per 10 days served. Perhaps no one would use it, but the option would be available.

As for the surrendering thing, I didn't comment before because I had thought this was the thread about reforming jail. I think getting naked before turning yourself in is "lame", but not currently against the rules. That doesn't mean I wouldn't make changes to penalize you for that tactic at some point in the future, but it's not my priority right now.

I still don't understand why you consider that lame. You think that a criminal would just walk up to the guards carrying all his worldly possessions, which he knows will be taken away, and give everything he owns over to the people that he committed the crimes against? That makes no sense to me.

I'm pretty sure if DA had to go serve jail time, he'd drop his phat lewt before doing it.

I wouldn't go surrender myself to my enemies in the first place so I can avoid law NPCs and get ninja ganks in enemy territory. Especially now that it takes a while to get a banishment.

PS: I like how 75% of the game believes it's fine to lower their RP standards to get some mechanics advantage.

If you check the peackeeper accounts, I've given them well over 75 Obsidian at a time when I was trying to serve my time, willingly, likely more unwillingly. Now I've formulated some ideas that I will shortly post after finding out all the outlaw laws lists in sks.

brb!

lol! :o

DA and peso think it is lame when someone breaks rp to surrender into enemy so they can later go into their enemy's city and spy/kill their enemies there. They're right, when that happens, it is lame.

What they are both wrong however is in how they judge people to do this even when they don't. Peso specifically, has assumed this is true for people and killed them in jail. He is doing so because he figgures, if 2/3 people would do it, I will kill them all to stop them. Problem is with those 1/3 people who were not playing to 'win'. Those players just get shafted along with the 'lamers'.

I have forwarded some logs of this to imms in hopes that peso, and any peso will be kindly asked to stop doing this by someone whom he might actually listen to, as apparently he cares little about what his co-players think of him, so long as it is fine with him- No error there, it is sometimes the only way to play SK without being burned out. Still, I was hoping this would get imm attention and the judgment of:

'No, don't kill people in jail, it is wrong'

or

'It is perfectly fine'

Apparently, Achernar has answered this question. What happens on from here is another story.

Erevan just has a stick up their butt because I killed their IRL buddy after they RPly told me they were going to jail in my lands...while 4 mins before they had just attacked me, so I still wanted them dead.

What I saw was something I considered the lowliest possible thing to do to another player in SK short of resurrecting them to kill them again so they can stack SD.

Since that has written rules against it, you did it with prison to someone who made sure to make it clear to you that he was going to your prison.

Oh, and please try to keep your comments towards me on a polite level, at least on the gameplay forums.

I pretty much agree with Erevan. Its sucky that the only solo PK's I've seen Benjamin pull off are in logs of him killing someone in jail. Do you think he could pull it off otherwise?
