I am now motivated to consider a bard who goes around singing kirtan all day.

A bard is a performer. Performing can be a nerve-wracking experience. You can't picture your favorite musical artist or actor taking a moment before they go out on stage to breathe and center themselves to prepare for the show? I think meditation is perfectly understandable RP-wise for a bard.

Seems pretty reasonable thought to me. It wouldn't give them any more tactical advantage and as mentioned above it's perfectly normal for a performer to breathe and try to clear their mind so they can perform at there best. :drunk:

Bards don't have meditation because their songs are broken enough as it is, making it so that they have to physically rest in between "performances" is a good thing.

Also, ME/PE/HP Trains were made to increase regen in their respective stat in addition to increasing the current stat at the last code update, so training ME is a possible option for a bard who just -has- to have more mana regen. I wouldn't recommend it, though.

Finally, meditation is not some brief action of mind over matter, such as taking a deep breath before walking onstage: It's a constant trance, a state of mind that focuses your mind and magical energies, eventually permanently. Given the fact that bards would be even more broken in a group with it (songs of regen with meditation would be sick nasty), there's not much of a compelling argument for this change. It's also been suggested and shot down before, as I remember.

As usual, the answer to this is no. If regeneration time is a bother to you, that's why HP/Mana/Move trains were improved around the new year to increase regeneration speed. Between the fact that your pool is bigger and regeneration speed is faster, you are guaranteed to not have to sleep as much as before.

Plus I've beaten this topic into the dirt in previous threads, though I've always been for it.

I agree with Fluff, and the original poster. Also, I don't think training ME makes it regen any faster. If anything, I think it makes it slower. :-?

Have you tried training anymore then one or two trains?
Meditation/Trance and max mana trains, my Necro without holding anything regens over 50% ME sleeping, and about 7-8% standing atleast.
The regeneration from the trains is great.

As a gnome priest with max ME and WIS trains, I noticed a very big different when ME trains started regenning mana faster. Just for the record.

The HP regen rate with near max hp trains is significant as well.

I agree with this. I don't buy the you train more mana you get more mana and your regen stays the same 'cause your regenerating to a higher point. IE instead of regening to 400 you are regening to 600. Since I've been at my dads I've played a bit since deleteing Bovereen and the mana regen is markedly faster. So much so that I was hesitant in posting because I don't want it tweaked.

training me gives you more mana and a lot faster mana regen. Same with hps and pe. It's worth it.

All this is a duh.

But the thing is bards dont ever have room to train Mana.

They already need to have Max Int, Cha, Dex (Or its best for this). Plus high wis for singing, decent strength and con if you wish to be able to take hits decently and hit a bit hard. Art is also good if your planning to use scrolls at all.

So, you really just dont have room to be wasting stats on ME really.
