So long as it wasn't a global channel, and was in fact similar to the mentor command I can't think of any reason why it would be a bad thing.

I don't particularly like the idea, but I do agree that something like this would be very useful since I don't seem to ever bump into anyone while levelling. If we ever get to the point where it isn't needed anymore I think I'd like it to be removed, though.

Does nobody mind the fact that using this command reveals your general level status and possibly your alignment preference to any recipients?

If someone wanted to conceal those facts they could simply choose not to use it.

Yep, my point exactly. It's purely voluntary, both on the part of the recipient and the requester. Just as in the mentor command, the person asking for the partner wouldn't necessarily know who their message went to.

I don't really see the downside.

I agree with this idea as originally stated, including aura. Yeah, alignment should be determined by roleplay, but it's not like a game mechanic for communication which generally targets same aura characters is going to stop anyone from roleplaying appropriately.


Or maybe I'm just putting too much faith in the player base.
