Just deal with it in the same way every halfling or rogue or scout without racial infravision has to manage.

Rogues and scouts aren't dread knights of death and darkness.

I believe Hellions need infravision.

Hellions aren't knights of death.

At least Achernar has never had hellions in the past.

There are plenty of infravision items and potions, and even herbs in the game. Use them instead of whining. At least scouts won't have to discard them anymore like I did, back when I played mine.

Even if Dulrik gave you the silver platter, you'd cry for more.

I'm not bitching or crying for more.

I *chose* to play human as my race. I feel it is stupid that knights who revel in shadow and darkness are unable to utter a prayer to see through it. Don't pick at the tiny details - any good hellion is associated with death. If you don't think about death when a hellion's name is mentioned, you aren't a good enough hellion.

Please note that I'm not a good enough hellion. I don't care.

Hellions should have infravision. Simple as that.

I don't see why a hellion should gain infravision. Just because they are dark knights doesn't mean they should be able to see in darkness. The term "dark knight" means evil. Not shadow creatures. Halflings can run into shadows. give them infravision, too. Scouts can run deep into the dark woods, give them the spell and herbs!

Honestly, if a human hellion cannot find a way over this weakness, then they aren't being strong and are being a bad hellion. They should find alternatives, like other players without innate infravision and don't want to use glowing items, and think themselves better because they are overcoming an adversity unlike their weaker deep-elf/half-elf counterparts who do not know the struggle.

Do priests need infravision AT ALL? No. None of their skills/spells RELY on the absence of glowing items. In fact, they get a spell to MAKE items glow.

Good grief.

Well, infravision is one of those spells you can cast of others, and last I checked, priests were the primary support class. Not to mention that infravision is needed to utilize summon and locate object to their fullest - and I won't even cross halfling priests...

Humans have better stats than half-elves in many aspects which are relevant to the hellion. If this change is passed, I'd say it'll be about a year and a half before we see some suggestion to make half-elf/deep-elf hellions better. There are tons of ways to obtain infravision, utilize those.

This is an excellent point, Konge, however:

Deep-elves have inherently higher concentration limits. That is how they are superior to humans.

Half-elves already have infravision, what sort of buff would they need besides *not* having to concentrate upon the spell?

It's fine as it is, just like it is for rogues. And Nath, you should not forget that infravision is a spell that can be cast on another person

One thing I would like to see Hellions gain is the Fear spell. Is there any reason in particular that they do not have it already? To be honest I am not sure if it would make them overpowered but when compared to a paladin it makes up for the lack of holy word and spear of faith.

Yes, I do know hellions get other skills and spells that counter balance their paladin counterpart, and I am not saying they are weak by any means. I just can see an obvious reason as for why they should have it.

Although I have played a HK hellion of FEAR and I really love the class, and no-matter how much I would love to have had that spell back then for RP reasons mainly, I disagree. Yes, it would be completely overpowered. If you want the spell that bad, though, you can join a tribunal that its guards can cast it at your order.
