I am unsure if it has been proposed before but here is it anyway:

Tribunal leaders able to grant law immunity to certain characters and/or groups. This can be either permanent or even better based on hours.

Example command:
immune Dulrik 24

This will make Dulrik immune to law for 24 hours in the Kingdom of the leader who used the comman.

I privately campaigned for a "tribunal deputize" command about a year ago that was shot down fast and hard. The law is just not meant to be in PC's hands -- tribunals are strictly enforcers, not legislators.

Sorry.

A good alternative would be an inability to become outlawed if you are facing a banished individual (just outlawed might be too much). Since mostly allies who are helping trib members defend are having issues with this, the most common case would be Hammer and Keepers, this change would go a long way to alleviate that. It is kind of lame and illogical to become outlawed for fending off a known and notorious criminal.

Brilliant idea!

I should add that Dulrik was the one who shot the idea down.

His response was something along the lines of, "If they don't want to get outlawed for fighting a criminal in the city, they can join the tribunal."

No way! My idea is pure awesome.

There's a guy terrorizing and pillaging a city and you go try and fend him off, then WHAM you're outlawed.

Lameeeee.

I think it'd be neat, but the limited application, potential for abuse, and fact that it requires coding doesn't leave it much chance for getting implemented. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'd like it, mostly because of the fact that it gives someone one of the nicest things about joining a tribunal without actually joining the tribunal.

You shouldn't get outlawed for attacking banished people, though, I'd be fine with that change in every aspect.

In a perfect world, the law system it wouldn't be the garbled mess it is now, a big draw to Tribunals is that you don't have to wade through the damn thing. Sure there are ways around some of the problems inherent in the code, but spam pardoning people in PK is not really something that adds to the overall flavor of the experience.

There are a lot of neat things that could be applied to the law system, I suppose. In a list, I would just add a simple one that gives law immunity when you are grouped with a tribunal member in his city, or hell, it would be awesome to have a bounty/vigilante system where I could put a bounty on someone that has a huge number of crimes, players can have the option of hunting them down and turning in the severed head of the player for coin from the Tribunal Coffers!

As it is, it's just crazy that you have to spend a day in jail because you helped out in a fight against a deep-elf in Ayamao that has a crime list the size of Kansas.

Actually, he doesn't, because he got pardoned.
