I would like it if corpses of PC's didn't have the players name, and instead had the PC's race.

Well if the person isn't greeted, you get 'the corpse of a human'
It'd be better if the adjective was included. :)

If you knew the person in life, it makes sense to recognize the body (by name).

Until the local friendly barbarian or scout comes along and butchers it into perfectly named steaks even though he might have zero idea who they originally were.

It is extremely disappointing to see people using that little "tactic." It makes absolutely no sense. It would be nice if body parts and steaks had adjectives or just read the race in general. It is feasible that if a person has been mangled enough to be turned into steaks, capes, or random body parts that you wouldn't recognize them even if you knew them. Obviously having them act like the full corpse would be preferred.

It makes sense that the identify spell can reveal the name of the corpse's owner. If it can read minute flows of magic and weight down to a tenth of a pound, it's going to be able to read something as major as the *identity* of a corpse.

The identify spell is fine, but butcher and skin don't make any sense.

Just because you are a freak who likes to wear a suit of skin made from the flesh of your victims Buffalo Bill style doesn't mean you would know their name. Skin is not like undies, folks. It does not have your name writen inside of it.

Makes sense to me. But then what would you say about the limb or other random bit that falls off the body.
