Hellions at least get polearm.
I just went on a trip to the outer planes. My biggest contribution was c armor iatu, which I executed twice with great dignity and aplomb. The entire rest of the trip I spent shrinking things I was hoarding to sell later, and casting petrification when I got really bored. Even a mire hound was unpetrifiable. Spamming color spray resulted in 1 blind out of 25 casts.
Sorcerer is a tremendous class for enchanting other people's things, and for farming gold.
I think a newbie who started playing a sorc and found that at the pinnacle of its gameplay it was only as good as brandish buffs and c armor tank would not be impressed with the class or the MUD as a result. Somehow you've taken the class with the longest list of skills in the game and made it functionally less interactive than swashbuckler - very bad!
