I think it's fairly obvious what with these being the only things used lately, that they both need to be whacked pretty good with the nerf bat.

All I see lately is people with taunting NPCs, and the charm person spell being used for nothing but PK.

Honestly, I like the prospect of being able to charm people for the RP it could cause, but very rarely are people who do the charming willing to RP and even less often are people willing to RP properly when zomg they're gonna lose their leet loot!

You should get a huge bonus to the save through against charm if you are in combat with said individual or party.

The real reason you're seeing more of these is because people are growing more experienced at PK. Taunt is balanced. You can escape it through melee contact, ethereal scrolls/wands/specials, deafness, and the effects can be negated through intelligence modifiers. Pick your poison.

Charm person can be completely negated through enough willpower. The only two people using it very often both have twinked their stats to maximize it's power during recite/cast. It also can be cancelled every time with particular store-bought potions.

I would like to see fury add a remove compulsion effect to the barbarian. THAT would be cool. Very old-school berserker. Because really, how are you going to control a raging bull-man who's in the middle of seeing red with a "charm" ? Animal instincts for the win.

I can think of more than two.

But in general I think Stratford is right.

Remove complusion on fury? thats a joke right? there's a reason giant barbs get raped by charm, its because they do 4x as much damage as any class in the game.

4x is an huge exaggeration for the amount of damage barbarians do. What does do 2 or 3x as much dmg as any class in the game besides necromancers is a freaking sorceror with 2 charms, a bondservant, and a tribunal Champion-level guard. Thanks.

Barbarians should shrug off mind control when in a FURY, not a BERSERK, but FURY I can see. It makes Fury balanced with how much it effing fails.
