Let's put it in Mystra words, then. If the person the paladin is attacking, can't "readjust their position", then the paladin shouldn't get to either.

Same should apply for taunt, snare, and any other skill then.

There's a reason these skills/spells have the "you can't move" affect, and that's to give the class an advantage in that respect. If a paladin bolts a necro in place, he's to stay there till the effect wares off. He needs to wear more saves.

The same for taunt. The same for snare.

As opposed to:
"XXX's taunts drive you to attack him!"

Think about it. If the gods of light are demanding that battle be done between the BoG target and the pallie, running isn't exactly an option for either side, whereas if some bugger comes along and pisses you off, he's perfectly entitled to haul his [REDACTED] outta there.

Right, but BoG stops someone from wording out. You can walk around with the affect on you (seriously) and aren't engaged.

Whereas taunt keeps you in place if you are fighting or not.
