I thought of a way to make siege weapons consider as an option over other physical range attacks. Make siege weapons attack the group check against all group members for hitting and damage.

but then you'd have three people manning siege weapons at murderholes hitting the whole group...thats 3 group attacks despite class...crs is hard enough as it is.

If there is a way to apply some kind of cover bonus to murder holes, or make them only work one-way, I think it would make a great addition.

Cannibal under the current system any class using an enchanted crossbow is better than a siege weapon (at least at medium size) They can not be enchanted as other weapons. Any class with bow or crossbow is better of using it.

If siege weapons did more damage they would be better than if they hit the whole group. The amount of damage a siege weapon does your average sorceror or necro has no problem being the prime target of a siege weapon while breaking into the HQ once in side then the siege weapon can not be used to target them. Cities it would be a little different then again there is no reason for your targets to sit in one place against your attacks.

Focused damage that was more would be more likely to bring down a prime tank or just wipe out a caster before they could counter. Group damage increase its damage potential with out producing something that kills people quicker than they can respond. One or two Mass heals would cure all damage from breaking into a HQ. As it stands now if anyone is able to do more than a single GM heal worth of damage with a siege weapon in any battle short of someone standing around to measure damage please I want to see a log.

Having said this changes to how siege weapons work would have to be watched closely perhaps the outer guardians would not heal so quickly so strike and run tactics would be useful for a drawn out HQ break in.

Catapults should do group/splash damage, to be honest.
