I have an idea for how long you keep Berserk. Instead of basing it on an arbitrary time span, how long you have it could be based on something more like this:

You berserk. You gain 'x' number of 'points'. These 'points' degenerate at a per-second or per-tick basis. Every time you take, or deal, damage that amount of damage will be modified by some formula as of yet to be determined, and then added to your 'points'.

One could also base the buff power of this berserk on that point value, and possibly include in the formula dividing the number by your hit point % number, or some other manner in which to tie it to your HP in order to create a sort of 'wounded panther' effect. Thoughts?

OR we could give barbarians brew and have berserk be something that can be made for everyone.

You have imbued berserk into a corked vial.

Some thoughts -

If something like this came to be, there would still be some kind of max/cap associated with player level.

Things which could play in/be affected:
Time after last fight, longer being more likely to 'cool off.'
Inability to rest/sleep while berserked.
Amount of damage taken/given could contribute but also limited by level of whatever is being faught. You're not going to get too worked up over things much lower lvl than yourself.

The skill should not be made to function on a longer scale.
The longer one is berserked, I would like to see it draining PE quicker, potentially OR subject one to some kind of PE drain when it wears off.

Thoughts anyway. Don't know if any of this is even necessary, but if someone was wanting to fiddle with durations... some thoughts anyway.

Excellent input, Amadeo. That also raises something about the PE. You actually loose PE for berserking. I don't like that. I believe you should gain some PE when you berserk and loose twice that when you come off of it.

Barbarians do not need to be nerfed. They are already the red headed step children to mercenaries. Berserk requires PE already, whether it hits or not, and the lag from a failed berserk is comparable to a missed bash, which also takes PE by the way.

I don't think this was so much about a nerf as a curve. *shrugs*

I can't see this as a positive change.
