More economic measures are planned to factor in how much people actually buy or sell the item in question. If, as you say, nobody wants to purchase them, then the price will go down due to lack of sales until it stabilizes at a price people think it is reasonable.

I would be for it. As it is now, my newb can't even purchase a decent weapon, without hopping to like Teron, which you really wouldn't know to do unless you already played the game for some time.

The system is not stopping people from spending the same amount of cash it is just limiting the number of things they are getting for it. Something needs to happen to the extra coin of inflation other than it going into the economy. Perhaps half all extra cash from inflation can be skimmed as tax for the tribunal. This would reduce the upward spiral of a boom once it starts.

Or a tax on every item in the city of 10% for the tribunal. Which the tribunal can raise and lower. The higher the economy goes the higher they can push their taxes in an effort to remove profit from the spiral of inflation. As economies go down they can lower the tax to get more money straight into the economy. (I would leave the prices the same just skim the money out of what is there because the inflation prices seem about right for a high tax item)
