Remarks like that -always- make other people point out any mistakes you've made. So let it be my distinct pleasure to point out that magma spray is in fact irresistible with MR - as you stated in your very first post - as the exception which proves the rule.

That's me not knowing about MR, not me not knowing enchanting. Oh semantics...

But yeah, I was quick to post and slow to think when I left magmar in the "can be resisted" group. My bad.

When I enchant I got for 7 good enchantments, which is anything but MR and 2 or less reflex. I dont do this 2 greater or 3 greater thing and it still takes me a long time to get an "OK" suit. And if there is an MR, I go for 8 enchantments total.

MR is basically an "all or nothing" enchant, and only good for certain classes. Warriors and others who are dependant on healing, but taking it to the extremes on a necro or sorc can be utterly elite.

Depends on the material, luck, phase of the moon, time of day, number of petals on the last flower you picked and nothing else.

I've gotten sick enchants of like +12 on top of things that start with +5, none of them being MR. How you might ask??? Sheer utter luck.

Just get a pile of something storebought, or a good item that isn't terribly difficult to reacquire and just keep pushing it. Eventually you will get what you want but it's all just a number game.

Magic resistance is a worthless enchant for every class, even sorcerers and necromancers. Not only will you resist WoR potions, but more importantly, you will resist the etherealform wand, which is death in any PvP situation where you need it.

Frankly, it has to be that way, though. Otherwise, we'll be back to the days where you have characters that are completely immune to magic, save for voodoo and magma spray. If you get magic resistance on an enchant, fade the item or junk it.
