Is there any sort of command that can be used to publish your character's background before they became a pc somewhere, like background, bio, story, role, etc? Usually in games that don't have this, I have the 'think' or 'feel' commands that can be used to reflect their inner reasoning/thoughts/feelings/etc, but I'm not sure how to express any of what is coloring her actions without a play by play spoken narrative, and that just seems jarring. |

Maybe you could write a short book on your character? Give someone this "journal" if they want to learn more about you? Usually, characters just discuss their past icly in casual conversation, I think. |

I meant less for other characters and more for the staff, and I am referring more to stuff that might not come up in casual conversation. Like.... my mother was a deep elf slave, and I have an enmity toward elves, but it might not be terribly obvious as a half elf, or I was abused for years at the hands of soandso, seeing X or Y might trigger a specific violent (or terrified) response. |

This game doesn't have that sort of command, although I think there was some sort of journal object out there at one point, but it was broken or something. There was talk about making a functional journal more common, and I think that's an awesome idea, but I have no idea if the imms were involved in that conversation or if it was just the musings of other players. At present time, just act how you feel your character would act, and if you want to, maybe keep a notepad document for a journal so that if such a thing ever does get added into the game, you can add it at a later date. You might even be able to get something like that published in the game. |

Act the way your character would. if you get called out for anything, you have your background to back up your actions. shrug |

One advantage of playing a religious character is being able to use prayer (in moderation) to document thoughts and prayers prior to taking action - since prayers get saved now that might help partially cover what you're looking for until any other implementation can be done. |

OP didn't suggest it was only readable by self and admins, so I assumed that housing it outside the game would be best: no one wants to be ganked while reading about how Blackleaf played flute in Elrond's court for 50 years. |
