Trying to understand the level ranges for quests. Is it that: 1) Quests trigger (start) at the given range? 2) Quests must be completed during the given range? 3) The given range is just a suggestion? 4) Both 1 and 2? 5) None of the above? Thanks! |

Some quests are given once you reach a certain rank and find the NPC that gives them. It doesn't matter when you complete them, but if you do so when you have out-leveled the quest then you won't get much XP for it. |

That's great to know, thanks! In CF if you outlevel a quest, you permanently fail it and it shows up on your quest list as "FAILED." Always annoyed me when I got a quest without asking for it and couldn't complete it (sometimes to to RP restrictions). |

to use as a random example Quest A: amateur to Veteran. If you complete it when you are amateur to jman you get full xp If you complete it when you are vet, you get partial xp If you complete it when you are past vet, you can complete it and get any item/monetary rewards but you get 0xp |

Another question, not directly related but I didn't want to start a new thread: I have a quest that suddenly appeared on my list. The NPC never spoke to me about it (I checked my logs). The NPC wants an item but when I brought one to it nothing happened. The item name is very generic; the quest list says, for example: "Bring NPC a cloak." Since the NPC didn't speak to me, how am I to know what particular item it wants? Is this possibly a bug? |

Sounds like you walked into the temple of Alshain in the city of Exile. They're looking for a specific cloak. If you ask around to a few lighties in character, they should be able to direct you to the specific location of the cloak needed. |

I meant it as a theoretical example, though I guess there is a cloak quest. ![]() But as an aside would those in the above Temple actually talk to you first? I was under the impression that the NPC would at least ask for the item. The actual quest I'm asking about (NOT a cloak) gives no particular indication that the quest was initiated. I can't see any hints in the room the NPC is in that said NPC needs the item, either. |

Probably a bug or problem with the initiating NPC then. You can also "typo" log the room where the quest started if know where it is, and/or send an e-mail to the corresponding immortal through help wizlist. |

Perhaps this happened: 1. Walked into room with NPC that gives quest upon you entering. (quest is now in your quest log) 2. Exited room before noticing. 3. NPC starts talking about the quest, but you're already gone, so you have no idea what to do, but you have the quest already (See #1) Most quests take an initial response from the player to accept the quest, but I know there are some that don't. |

How about: 1) I start a new character and walk into the room. 2) Wait a good five minutes to see if I get any information. 3) If not, bug board it? I'm hesitant to bug board because quests are "sensitive" info and I'm not sure I should post it there. |
