I don't know this one but is Art important for a bard?

CHA > Art

I would cap it at 6 for scrolls.

Yes, Cha is most important, but if you have literally all other stats maxxed, train art 6. You can boost via eq to stats to max but for bards all stats are essential

This is a lie. I would highly recommend training mana rather than art.

I would more or less agree with this. Given the lack of mana regen skills in the bards list, the mana regen bonus is handy. However, a GM bard can gain mentor points almost without trying, so if you've already maxed your mana trains, and your other stats are good (with or without mods depending on whether you can consistently get the mods you need or whether you have to naturally max your stats), art is a solid choice for a bard.

The handful of bard songs that use art are some of the most situationally dependant songs in the list. The most powerful, more frequently used songs won't use it.

I maxed art as a bard, but am unsure how much it helped with songs. I think mana would be a better choice for a bard and charisma as well.

The last time I played a bard, art wasn't very useful at all unless you had plans to spam scrolls.

The reason I said 6 for art is because, it will help if you play a char that may go against a necro. B aug will make their army worthless, because there is a save.

Art is useful for scrolls, but honestly a bard is so stat starved it's ridiculous. Your best bet is mana. After that, do whatever you want. As long as you have pretty much every stat maxed, you should do okay for a bard. Songs of sleep can't be resisted and the drowsiness effect takes effect almost immediately.

In fact, the only songs that would use art are songs silence, dancing, and probably B aug sixth (Deafness), which depending, can really screw you over (Seeing as deafness lessens the damage your other chords do and makes the enemy immune to your songs entirely). Cha is the most important stat with probably int and wisdom being the 2nd and third one. Bards are just straight up hard to build. Avoid art and go mana is what I suggest. If you have any extra points, only then dump art unless you actively use -a lot- of scrolls.

I'm starting to remember back to my old bard, I only went after art after I did have the others done, don't worry though, when you reach mentor you will be getting lots of training points.
