What is the correlation between SK ic time and hours and days irl? I'm assuming when someone says "I'll be back next month", they mean tomorrow. Is everyone just estimating?

RL week = IC year

Most players assume an SK month is an IRL day, but in truth, it varies widely because time segments in-game are at non-fixed intervals.

You have it pretty much right on both counts, "I'll be back next month" = "I'll be online tomorrow" AND could be considered a guesstimate. Take a peek at this link: http://www.shatteredkingdoms.org/time.php

It is a lesser known page, but might answer some questions. Hope it is helpful.

An IC year spans about one RL week.

When people say "I'll be back next month," they mean the next day in real life. An IC month doesn't actually correlate very closely with a RL day, but it's the easiest way to express something that often needs to be expressed. A RL minute is roughly equal to an IC hour.

Very cool, thanks. And thanks for the pointer - I mistakenly searched the forums for "time". Yeah, that got me far.

Time is unrelated to ticks. Time is static and related to real life time in a metered fashion. That is why the "Time" page will allow you to select a date in the past or future accurately. It does seem that one real life week is approximately one in game year, a little more actually. There are 12 months in a game year, and one week is closer to 13 months. While the vernacular of saying next month in the game has often and enduringly been used to refer to the next day, a month is closer to a half of a day. 12 months with 28 days makes exactly 336 days in a Pyrathian year. 24 hours in each of those days makes 8064 hours in game for one game year. One real life week is 7 days with 24 hours and 60 minutes for 10080 minutes.

Looks like 12 months and 24 days to be exact. I am almost positive that an in game hour is exactly one minute. Ticks vary in length.

I'm pretty sure that hours are exactly one minute too: which would mean that naturally, a day in SK is 24 minutes IRL. However, it's usually understood in-game (Although honestly the practice has only started recently to my knowledge) that a month in SK is a day IRL, and a year in SK is a week IRL.
