why do thieves always take my stuff in between logins?
how can they take it if im wearing it?

There's a help faq or whatever, and this is one of the first items on it. Instead of having item level requirements like some games, SK lets you wear things that are designed for characters above your level.

The price you pay for this is that when you log on, there is a a chance that items above your level are taken away from you.

The only way to know if something is your level is a combination of the identify spell and the use of out-of-character information.

On another note, the shady characters on the road are either bugged or were designed by a jackass. They steal from you, and you kill them, and the item they took is gone until the next reboot. Seriously annoying. My own fault for having rare items in my inventory, but seriously annoying.

Baldric.. check the pawn shop sometime It doesn't get there instantly but it 'should' end up there. It's happened to me plenty.

Anyways, I've replaced that particular item with something better, so no worries.

The shady characters eat items, usually because they'll often despawn with the items they stole.

Sounds like a bug to me then, I know at least early last year some time the script was that they took the item to some dark alleyway or something similar when you located for it, then eventually it would show up in the pawn shop. They do technically despawn in the process I'm pretty sure.

That never happened with the shady characters on the road, I don't think. Those NPCs are relatively new.

Confirming that the shady guys used to do this, but don't anymore. They just go poof with your [REDACTED], which is really quite annoying.

Are these the guys that steal, send a tell "Ha ha I got you!" and hide? If so just wait a bit and they always end up jumping out of the shadows and fleeing so you can see where they go.
