You gain exp from ALL of the songs. Some are worth more than others, however. I remember spamming songs of silence with my first bard to level from 49 to 50. It took forever (eight hours?), but you could do it and it's pretty safe.

Bards get exp for singing and dancing only if it's doing something (I believe). Such as making people dance or making them sleep. |

The amount of xp gained by just singing is so small that it would take you forever to level off from if thats what you want to know. I recommend you use the songs for the beneficial affects they create and stick to the hack and slash method of leveling. |

You can gain several levels by making large rooms dance at lower levels. It does take awhile, but it can be done if you don't feel like fighting. |

You can level quite quickly in a full room of NPCs. If they would fix the bug that lets stunned NPCs walk off a bard could gm in the outpost very quickly after getting 20+ NPCs into a single room. (granted the spam from it might lag the system) |

Just get a sorc to pull 30 or 40 NPCs into one room. |
