Time in SK doesn't pass in the sense that it doesn't break down to minutes / seconds - instead it is 'calculated' from the real time. This is why the website can reliably predict the in-game time at any given point in the future; a feature built to help people co-ordinate future events using in-character / system time.

Ticks and other events are not predictable on a timeline, but in many cases occur in a sequence after other tasks, rather than always at an exact time period.

I'm not worried about figuring out how long the ticks take. It is nice to be a little more specific than, "so I'll see you um.. later, which might be a week or two, or even a month, or an hour. I don't have a good sense of time."

Since you didn't ask:

[Game help] ticks

Many of the game actions are based upon interval timers, including combat,
most autonomous monster actions, hp/mana/move regeneration, spell duration,
weather, and area resets.

Of these timers, the hp/mana/move regeneration timer is popularly called the
tick. Ticks on Shattered Kingdoms average 1 minute of real time, but the
actual amount varies randomly from 45 seconds to 75 seconds.

Area resets are variable as to length depending on the area. Also note that
objects lying on the ground will not be regenerated if anyone is in the area
when it resets.
